Aus HeidelbergCement wird Heidelberg Materials
VAS integral part of Heidelberg Materials' "LEO" initiative
The implementation of VAS as part of Heidelberg Materials' "Logistic Efficiency Optimization" (LEO) initiative will lead to a significant optimization of shipping and related logistical processes, as the increased level of automation will result in much faster execution of many activities within the plants. In this context, Axians IAS was announced as a "Preferred Supplier" by Heidelberg Materials.
A strong partnership with Lhoist
A strong partnership, which has existed for more than 10 years, connects us with the renowned company Lhoist. The delivery of Axians' VAS solution for the optimization of plant dispatch processes took place in all German plants, e.g. in the largest European limestone plant in Flanders. The "European Shipping System" standardization project launched in 2015 continuously supports Lhoist in equipping its plants within Europe with a standardized template approach of the VAS logistics solution.
VAS convinces Dyckerhoff
"We carry out a large part of the logistics processes with SAP. A key criterion in the selection of the new solution was the proven and simple connection to the SAP sales module. In addition, we want to map incoming raw materials in the future by integrating VAS into SAP® Materials Management," was an important reason for Wolfgang Peseke, CIO of Dyckerhoff GmbH, to choose VAS.
IAS: Order for the standardization of logistic processes
As a multinational company in the building materials industry, CEMEX uses VAS based on a customized template solution that is linked to the central ERP system and has been rolled out to several CEMEX plants in Germany and the Czech Republic. The main reason for choosing VAS was its ability to cover all the requirements for an IT logistics solution described in CEMEX's detailed system specification.
Go-ahead for Holcim Southeast Asia
The need to have full control over shipments leaving a cement plant was the starting point for LafargeHolcim in Southeast Asia to add another important feature to its VAS logistics shipping solution. Until now, VAS managed the online pre-registration of trucks, queue management, call-to-entry, the complete entry process, the loading and exit process incl. the exit weighing and the automated printout of the delivery documents.
Axians IAS expands market position in North Africa
Following the implementation of VAS at Holcim plants in the Philippines and Indonesia, the solution was successfully implemented for the first time in Morocco. The pilot installation took place at the Settat cement plant between Casablanca and Marrakech. In addition to the software and services, Axians provided the complete infrastructure for the project. This includes not only IT hardware such as printers or large displays for the control room, but also barriers and signal lights for traffic control within the plant.
Al Safwa
Al Safwa increases operational efficiency of loading with VAS
"With the current migration of the VAS IT logistics solution from version 04 to version 05, Al Safwa Cement Company (ASCC) differentiates itself from its competitors by being more customer-focused and introducing innovative solutions that are the basis for doubling the capacity of its plant in Saudi Arabia, said Ing./ Khaled Jadallah, commercial director of Al Safwa.
Ciments de l'Atlas automates processes: VAS now also in Africa
With the introduction of the VAS IT logistics solution from Axians IAS, Casablanca-based Ciments de l'Atlas (CIMAT) will continuously automate processes at its Moroccan plants. "For CIMAT, this is a major step in the optimization of our processes, as with VAS we have found a system that best covers our conceptual, functional and technological requirements," says Rachid Lahbara, Direction Performances et Investissements at CIMAT, describing the reasons for the decision.
PHOENIX cement plant: VAS in the heart of Westphalia
PHOENIX Zementwerke Krogbeumker GmbH & Co KG, a traditional company in the Westphalian cement industry, has decided to implement the IT logistics system VAS from Axians IAS. "Until now, we had to control the processes manually and on paper," says PHOENIX plant manager Kai Wagner, explaining the company's realignment. "With the help of the VAS IT logistics system, the processes within the cement plant will now be successively automated and unmanned loading will be implemented throughout the plant."
VAS Template successfully implemented at Lafarge Emirates Cement
Final acceptance at the Lafarge Emirates cement plant marked the start-up of another key project in the Middle East. The excellent and professional cooperation between Lafarge and Axians' IAS project team contributed decisively to this rapid implementation. "With the proven and process-oriented software, we were able to start the further optimization process," reports the project manager at Lafarge Emirates.
